Initial Naturopathic Intake: Your first visit will typically last 60-75 minutes. You are encouraged to print and fill out your forms before the visit. Your doctor will review your health history, perform necessary physical exams (such as heart & lung exam), labs will be ordered as indicated (please bring in any labwork you have received in the past 6 months), and a treatment plan will be discussed.
Return Naturopathic Appointment:Follow-up appointments typically last 30-45 minutes. This is an opportunity to discuss results of any new labwork and to review current treatment progress.
Breast Thermography: digital infrared thermal imaging is a radiation-free, physiological test that can detect potential breast cancers 8-10 years before conventional mammograms can. Breast Thermography is FDA approved as an adjunctive breast cancer screening tool. Early detection of increased metabolic activity and inflammation in the breast allows for early intervention through natural treatments.
Women’s Health Screening: In addition to a breast thermogram, the thyroid gland and carotid arteries, head (sinuses and dental) are also imaged.
Men’s Health Screening: digital infrared thermal imaging of the thyroid gland, carotid arteries, head (sinus and dental), upper back and chest
Musculoskeletal/Inflammatory Screening: digital infrared thermal imaging may be used to detect specific areas of inflammation in the body. This can be particularly useful in identifying specific problem areas for patients with chronic pain.
Conventional Lab tests
We frequently order Conventional Lab Tests. Instead of “normal” values, we utilize “optimal ranges” when reviewing the results with you, this means that we have a narrower range that we know patients feel their best at. So even if you have recently had labwork and were told everything was “normal”, it is helpful to bring in those results so that we may review them together.
Some examples of such tests are: CBC (Complete Blood Count), Complete Metabolic Panel (including cholesterol screening), Fasting Blood Glucose & Insulin (diabetes screening), Thyroid Panel
Specialty Lab tests
In addition to Conventional Lab test, we often order speciality lab tests.
Some examples of these tests are:
Salivary Hormone Testing for both women and men: Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA-s, FSH, LH. This test is often useful when a patient is experiencing hormonal disturbances and symptoms such as low libido, hot-flashes, PMS, infertility, and erectile dysfunction.
Adrenal Hormone Testing: This test is often ordered for patients experiencing ongoing fatigue and insomnia.
Gastrointestinal Panel: This test will detect pathogenic “bugs” in the gut (bacteria, worms, yeast overgrowth). This test is helpful when patients are experiencing ongoing diarrhea/constipation, gas/bloating, and abdominal cramping.
Food Allergy/Sensitivity Testing: This test for immune reactions to specific foods. This test may be ordered for patients suffering from gastrointestinal symptoms, chronic skin rashes, and chronic fatigue.
Neurotransmitter Testing: This test may be ordered for patients experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and irritabilty.
